Angry Problems reinstalling Driveshaft's

In the process of doing an Auto to Manual conversion. Been fun so far. I removed the old 3.90 Differential and install the new 4.10. But im having trouble getting the Driveshaft's (Differential to wheel) back into the differential. I did not replace the C clip as it said to do in the manual but i measured them and they meet the size requirements in the manual. They go in and stop about 3/4 of the way in. Any advice? Thanks

I have found that tapping the drive shafts in with a big hammer works best.
You can get it almost all the way in by hand, maybe about 3/8 of an inch out then I had to hit the drive shaft @ the hubs to get the rings to snap on in. I know at least one other member has done it this way too.
