Problems bleeding clutch.
Problems bleeding clutch.
Hey guys,
Last night decided to bleed my entire system and ran into a snag. Bleed the brake in the order prescribed (farthest to MC and comming towards it). But when bleeding the clutch I lost all resistance in the clutch pedal. Before it was ok but now when I am pressing on the clutch pedal with the screw open massive amounts of air are in the lines and with the screw closed the pedal falls to the ground and doesn't come back by itself.
Any advice?

you will need help. someone pushing the pedal in and hold then someone opening the bleed screw till you have no air left in the line.
you may have to do it several times and make sure you keep the master cylinder full during the process.
both brake and clutch run off the same master cylinder. so if your brakes are working fine than i bet the slave cylinder push rod came out.

Did you make sure not to run the clutch section of the reservoir out of fluid? While the brakes and the clutch share the same reservoir, there is a divider in there to help keep the two separate (in case you lose all fluid from one of them it won't render the other dead).

This is why I love this club
Thanks for the rapid responses, I will give everything a look tonight. From looking at what Dale wrote. I will rebleed my system and make sure to always keep the MC to the TOP!
Pisses me off because I bought some ELF 650 brake fluid to do my brakes, damn expensive fluid. Lesson learned right.
