I'll second the AIT. I had this problem years ago, when I still had a stock ECU, heatsoak would put it in limp mode.

sounds like YOU need my VENTED HOOD! nah... these guys are right, AIT and the fuel pump mod will work for you.

my 1st guess is fuel pump mod.

No it wont accelerate at all. It almost lopes when you press the gas.....vroom vroom vroom vroom. BUT this does only accur during heat soak.

plugs are about 6 months old.

BTW I read a write up by crispy that said he moved his AIT to the elbow. Has anyone else experimented with this?

thanks,

if youve been running in limp mode, u've probably fouled those plugs out as well

6th months is way too long in my book anyhow

i change my plugs every 3 oil changes or every 4500 miles

^ Wow like buying plugs ehhh? hahah j/j

Thats good and all, but 6 months is one maybe two oil hanges for me. I dont drive my fd that much. I start it at least once a week and take it for a quick spin to keep everythng fresh no matter what, but it isually only one day a week or less could be considered driving the car.

^^Thats like me.

The car def gets started once a week but recently, i say out of a whole month, the most times i have used my FD is prob like 8 days, usually short trips, not even the whole day. I dont have much time for it anymore and i cant see myself selling it but i have to find more time for it, because they say garage queens develop the most problems, you HAVE to drive the car for it to stay in proper order.

Yeah this is true. I try to drive her, but sometimes it is just so damn easier to jump in the land rover and go. Not worry about anything.

UPDATE: Ok changed the fuel pump a walrbo 225, and did the fuel pump wiring mod. Car ran fine for a while, but then I went to a buddy of mines house(nashman69's house actually). Anywho, went inside and talked to him for a while. When I went to leave I started the car, but ended up still talking to him for about 7-10 min. (same as sitting in traffic) When I went to pull off Blluuurrrpp grrruuuurrrpppp rrp rrpp grgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgrrrr llllllluuuuuurp pop.

Did it again. I guess I will be tryin to AIT next. Does anyone know a way I can test the AIT? Maybe unplugging it and trying to do something?

Anywho, If anyone has any more thoughts or ideas please let me know.

thanks agian,
-josh

You can try to relocate it. I think i am about to do that for my next mod.

Drove the car pretty hard last saturday, then stopped to talk to a friend for about 30 minutes, then went home (which is only 4 blocks away). As soon as i turned the corner, 1st gear, shift at 3k into 2nd, then the car started to bog. Had to put it in neutral and coast it for a block or 2. Then turned the corner and accelerated in 2nd and it was fine. I had the fans on so i am assuming my talk with my friend heatsoaked the car pretty good.

It was 60F that day, heatsoak temp was 220F, then 200F when i actually started to go home.
