Sigh....first of all there ARE such things as sentences with capitalized words and periods and other punctuation points......
Now, I'm assuming you mean 4 - 5 THOUSAND rpm? This just happened out of the blue, with the car shifting normal beforehand? Have you checked to make sure you are full of fluid? What does the car do if you activate 'HOLD'? What about if you try the selector in different positions? Do you have reverse?

Sounds like an internal problem, for some reason you are not building the pressure you need. Are you getting any sort of 'check engine' codes? You should be if your system pressure is too low.
You can spend hundreds of dollars trying to pinpoint this. At this point you might want to consult a qualified transmission shop.
Or.......
There are several good automatic trannies for sale right now in the 3rd Gen For Sale section.
You COULD just pick one of these up for a song and drop it in.....
If you don't have it, download the PDF (Adobe Acrobat reader required) 3rd gen manual that is a sticky at the top of the Forum. There are a few things you can check, but most of it involves having Special Service Tools to properly diagnose your problem.
Have you done the KOKO (key on, key off) sequence yet? Also, try disconnecting the positive terminal of the battery, then go press on the brake pedal three times, this will reset the ECU.
Then see if the problem is still there.
Let us know...we are here to help.
