PRoblem with starting RX7

Guys,

Ive just rebuilt an RX7. It has never ran properly since the rebuild. It has good compression, 3 even bounces yada yada. New spark plugs, new injectors (both changed because it wouldnt start) the coils are fine, im getting spark - the plugs smell of fuel (and you can see it on them), the intake isnt blocked but it wont start. If i put oil in the chambers it starts on 1 rotor but then dies straight away, no amount of throttle can keep it running.

There are no codes stored in the ECU either.

HELP! Im stumped

Sure you've got your injectors plugged in properly? Didn't swap the front and rear primaries? Sounds like similar symptoms to mine when I did that. If you're not sure, use an ohmmeter and the wiring diagram to check for continuity from the ECU plug to the correct connector.

I just put my rebuilt engine in too and have the same issues. I've traced it down my rear primary injector. It wouldn't "click" with a 9v attached to it but after cleaning the injector with some rubbing alcohol, it now seems fine. I just got everything back together and am hoping to start it this weekend.

Good luck.

Okay, ive figured this one out now i think.

i had a stuck open injector. This flooded the engine which fouled the plugs. This then made the whole car not start at all.

I unflooded it, replaced the leading plugs and it started right up. I then put one of the old plugs back in (the fouled ones) and ran it for a bit. Then i put the second one in and ran it for a bit.

It now seems to run and start superbly and moves under its own power.
