Problem with FD

Hey guys i havent been on in a long time , just got out of the Marines and yeah im back home in colorado....but hey heres my question... the other day i took the car out and got it up to 170 and i hadnt ran it hard in awhile well i was getting back into town and the first stop sign i came too, the car acted like it wanted to die, but it didnt die, i had to kinda ride the clutch just to get it to go, well i got home and the idle on it was all messed up, like it wanted to die but it wouldnt die, and there was this funny ticking noise around where my turbos are at, so i dont know what exactly is wrong with the car, i have full boost and it runs strong just doesnt sound right anymore and idles a little funny....any advice or suggestions would be very helpful , thank you!

hey, what's up dude.....i'm still in, lol yay

hmmm..you know what? i just started getting the same "ticking" noise from where my turbos are, kinda down near the LIM. but i also think i have a blown coolant seal cuz i'm blowing clouds of white smoke. i still boost strong too but i just did a full vacuum job; kinda... you should read what i did.

mine started doing this when it wasn't warmedup all the way, was yours? mine will idle about 1000 until it gets to temp then goes down to 650-750; sometimes even 600 but it's steady.

also, has it kept it up since the last time you drove it? sometimes weird things just happen and just go away. hopefully that's just it.

also, do some regular maintenance on the car; oil change, spark plugs, FUEL FILTER-definitely, coolant flush, stuff like that.

i don't know if you mentioned if you haven't driven the car in a while but i know in the Marines that we just like to drive our cars and occassionally work on them so just try to keep up on the stuff.

good luck.

the car was warmed up when i drove it, and eyah its been awhile since i drove it hard, i was away for 4 months....and yaeh i dont know if i maybe blew a gasket? like in the exhuast or something maybe? but yeah i probably do need to do a full out maintenanec job on it, with the oil, coolant, and spark plugs and fuel filter... and yeah the gas is new , so it wasnt old gas in it.....but thanks for the replys ill check it out some more!

It isnt cranking or isnt starting? Big difference. If it is cranking do a compression test, it literraly takes about 5-7 minutes to perform. That will tell if yo the engine is blown.

If you have spark and fuel and it wont start, usually means bad engine or fouled spark plugs.

Also, has he verified the injectors are actually spraying fuel, or did he just check for fuel pressure to the fuel feed line?

None of this sounds good for your motor. I agree with David, just get a compression check and determine if that is where you should focus your attention.
