Pressure Drop of Stock Intercooler @ 10 p.s.i.

Did a bunch of searching for this number and could not find it. Sports Compact Car measured the stock IC pressure drop at 2.6 p.s.i. at 12 p.s.i. but I was wondering if anyone the number at 10 p.s.i.

TIA

Linear relationship would probably be pretty close. x= (2.6/12) x 10 ----> x=2.2 psi.

Pressure drop would depend on the air flow rate, not the input pressure. It's like a resistor, where the voltage drop depends on the current, not the voltage on the input end. So at high rpm (~7000), with high air flow, the pressure drop would be much higher than at, say, 3000 rpm, probably over twice as much. Intake and exhaust flow modifications that increase the flow rate would result in more pressure drop, even if the boost stayed the same.

So, again, the answer depends on the flow rate.

Under what conditions did "Compact Car" measure the pressure drop?

The measured the drop at 7000rpm. Car had M2 intake, downpipe, and exhaust at that point.

Thanks for the clarification!

However, I can't accurately state the effects of lower boost, but less boost at the same rpm should mean a bit less flow, and slightly less pressure drop. It's probably (guessing) more of a squared relationship, rather than linear.
