Prerequisites to proper odometer function

The odometer on my 93 FD does not turn on. The FSM doesn't seem to have a section for the odometer.

Does the odometer/trip odometer require the ECU to funciton? My car currently does not have an ECU or motor in it.

AFAIK, it does not need the ECU to function. It could be as simple as the LCD went dead.

The Body Electric manual is here: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/94-fsms-available-download-449950/

the ones on the sheet thing on the back? They all seem to be fine. Should I disassemble the cluster and check inside?

Crap, now I have to take it all apart again. I'll look at it tomorrow. Thanks for the responses.
