pre spool controller

just installed the home depot boost controller. got the boost controller set at 12. the pre spool controller is barely open and is at 8 right now. i know how sensitive this controller is. what would happen if i closed this valve? for those guys w/ this how far open is your valve? thanks, nick

If I remember correctly the more you close it the later the secondary turbo spools up. If you close it all the way you just get a crappy boost pattern like 10-2-5 or something. I will look at mine later but I think I have it open about a turn and a half.

thanks tom, if you get a chance check it out and let me know. i was under the impression the more you close it the faster it spools up and the higher boost you will get. nick

I just checked, mine is out 1 & 1/4 turns. After reading Rob Robinette's how-to again I still think I was correct in the more you open it the more spike at transition and higher boost out of the secondary you will get. I started with mine almost completely closed and set the boost controller where I wanted it. As I opened the pre-spool adjustment the secondary came on with more and more pressure, but as the secondary went up the primary went down. Eventually you have to adjust the boost controller to raise the boost again.
