Talking Power window stopper? What is this thing?

OK, I've seen this floating around inside the bottom of the door on a number of FD's I've worked on. Happened to find the part on RHD Japan today, and I'm curious if anyone knows where exactly this goes, what it does, and why it seems to fall out and float around the bottom of the door.

Part number from RHD Japan is GA7-C5-8565, it's $12.43 from them.

Any ideas?

Dale

Hey Dale, that goes on the end of the window regulator mechanism to prevent the clunk sound when the window is rolled all the way down. It's the lower stop.

Mine were trashed so I replaced them with a short section of heater hose which has the desired effect and doesn't fall off.

Interesting. It makes sense too. Can that be installed with the regulator in the door or does it need to be pulled?
