Power FC + Commander

I'm currently talking to a seller of a 7. He has an Apexi Power FC + Commander on it. But we're discussing about him taking it out so he can sell it to me a lil' lower plus I want to work with a more stock 7. My question is, will the current settings be technically "erased" and readjusted to the factory stock settings? Will the car work w/o the Power FC.

Well, when you take out the FC, you'll have to reinstall the factory ECU. So, yes the car will go back to factory settings. What other mods does the car have?

Let me know I'd be interested in trading you a stock ECU for the PFC. What do you want to get out of it?

How much are factory ECUs? Where can I get? But I'm sure the seller has the factory one still stored somewhere.

You need to think about and answer the question posed by jdhuegel1. Without the PFC you might turn your engine into scrap metal.

Do some research, 3 mod rule, and the like.

Stock ecu's are available on the forum, look in the parts for sale section.

By the way, I forgot to note. The Engine has been blown. I'm going to have the car rebuilt w/ new motor. So would a complete new engine-build include the stock ECU as well? Or should I try to find a replacement if the seller no longer has the original ECU?

This is a recent thread discussing the need for an ecu. There is a ton of stuff like this in the archives.

a new engine will not include the ecu. you also need to know if the car has bigger injectors, mid pipe, or upgreaged turbo. if the car does then i would suggest purchasing the car with the PFC since you will need some kind of fuel management to support the extra HP and boost that you will be making.

This is what the car has on. Still debating on the Power FC. Though I know this FC would help greatly.

---------------
Apexi Power FC with commander
GT spec cat back
Down pipe, mid pipe
Apexi power intake
Apexi dual chamber bov
Avc-R
Greddy under drive pulleys

If the car is highly modded, I would get a PFC. Or else return the car close to stock and run the stock ecu. To make an informed decision we need to know what is on the car that will be kept.

Ok....just go but another PFC and have Steve Kan tune it for you. Better yet have him build you the engine too.

Find him at www.gothamracing.com or steve@gothamracing.com

Edit: Your in Fl, take it over to Petit and have them build the motor and tune it for ya.

If your looking to work with a more stock car then buy a stock car. This car is significantly modded and needs the upgraded ECU he is running. Putting a stock ECU back on the car will blow any new motor you put in within a few short drives. If you really want this car and need to put this one back to stock I have alot of the stock components left for my car lying around like stock exhaust, ECU intercooler etc. if you need to I will give you a killer package price for everything you need. I wont be using it.

You need an upgraded ecu that is properly tuned to protect your motor. Go see Pettit or someone like them.

Sounds like it will be nice once you get a motor put in it.

Keep the ECU if you want that car(most likely it was turned for the mods that the car has)
