Hi all, it's been a while since my last post. I need help in solving my power antenna problem.
My old antenna track broke and Ray Crowe hooked me up with a new aerial. After some choice swear words the unit came out with no problem. I set the new aerial and track in place however, I don't know how to align the spring inside the gear mechanism. Apparently, this misalignment prevents me from extending and retracting the aerial to its full length. Instead it only moves .75".
See the attached pics as your guide. Any help is greatly appreciated!

here's a shot of mine as it was when I opened it up.

I just cleaned it up, removed the old antenna line, put it back together (without the antenna tail)
Then you feed the antenna tail with the teeth facing to the rear of the car and have someone turn off the radio. The tail will retract all the way then when you power the radio up, it should extend the entire way.

ppritchard,
thanks for your pic. I'll make sure the next time I open it back up, the spring is situated like yours.
I fingered it out...you don't have to push down the gear and cover subassembly flush. Just have a small gap and you will have proper clearance. Now the antenna extends and retracts as it should.
