anytime you are making a left turn, oncoming traffic has the right of way.

i know several people who have gotten into accidents this way, and they always blame it on the "other guy who wasn't looking" even though the "other guy" had the right of way.
This varies, they could've had a stop sign, or he could've had a turn on green light while the had a red, or they could've ran into him from the intersection side instead of oncoming.

Here is EXACTLY what happened:

Im making a left out of my neighborhood. Yes theres a stop sign and yes i made a COMPLETE stop cuz i was taking taking my wallet out of my back pocket. I look to the left and theres a 18 wheeler parked on the friggin curb. From the traffic light to the entrance of the neighborhood is about twice the length of the truck. I cant see jack, so i let it roll forward. I think heres where i made my mistake: as i was rolling i turned my head to the right. Just a habit. Shoodve kept looking towards the left. Well i turn back left one more time and there she is. MY foot was over the break pedals the whole time so i think that at the speed i was going she shoodve have been able to see evrything past my windshield and had enough time to stop. She had a disgusting burn/bruise from her seatbelt, and i walked away with nothing :]

We were both cited. I think she was cited for speeding [overheard it was 55 mph?] and i was cited for failure to yield.

Drove my uncles rx7 today too. It is indeed a beautiful car, and it is quite....wild lol. I see why this car is so popular :] Maybe one day when i prove competent enough i can own one of these sexy beasts.

wow.... Who pissed in your corn fakes... just because I am a new to the forum doesnt mean anything. the kid was just asking for some advice. Sure I agree with a silly comment, you can take anyone's advice it doesnt have to be so depressing. It cant be all bad right? you own one. Just because you have seen people come and go on here "mental shifts" of course. Or maybe just maybe life throws them a curve ball (like baby or having to move or something) you take what life throws at you and you go from there. I mean damn look at Kenny (his FD was on Modified Magazine cover and had a huge feature) but I saw he had his up for sale on here, because he is has a baby on the way. But sure there are also those people that are just then they leave. but you can do what you want.

it's important to note, that is not my engine. It was a picture posted a year or two ago and I saved it to show people what happens when you treat a rotary like a grocery getter.

yup, i love my FD, but i dont' think i would ever trust it as a daily driver without a backup. I have an old buick of similar vintage to drive in the winter, and when the rx7 is down, which hasn't been too much, but often enough that i'm glad i have a beater. I think that's the one caveat... own a beater, and have enough money in reserve for a rebuild, and you should be fine
