Actually, I think a 60-90 mph time in 3rd gear (starting at ~50mph) is more useful, as it gives a better measure of our car's top end and eliminates shifting as a variable. Over the last few months I have compiled a few times.
2002 stock Z06 3.5s
1999 A4 Camaro Lid, Exhaust 4.9s
2001 M6 Camaro (headers, lid, MAF, exhaust) 4.6s
At 12.5 psi I get a two way average of about 3.4-3.5s with HF cat and M2's stage 3 package....even by adding a passenger I see a pretty consistent .2s increase in my times. The 3.5s is consistent with the fact that I ran dead even with a Z06 from a 60mph rollon.
By the way, a stock RX-7 is supposed to do this test in about 5 seconds flat.

Just installed a Blitz SMIC. Did the test again. First run 5.21, second run 5.10. Average time approx 5.16. That's a good improvement.
Now if I can just get it to idle right.........

60-90
Sorry Adam, I'll try to do your test tonight. On the 60-90 I floor the car around 50-55 mph and start timing at 60mph. 4.8 seconds for the M3 is exactly consistent with what other M3s do.

Also, 60-90 is perfect for the M3, it is right on the cam.
Comparing different cars is a little bit of apples & oranges, as gear ratios are different. eg. the M3 is a 6-speed. (Mine is SMG)
Adam, floor it at 50 ......

I looked at my time from the first run, and thought I had made a timing error. I made a second run, and it was faster. I started accelerating around 55.
1st run: 3.65
2nd run: 3.53
AVG time 3.6
Looks like the car is breathing really good with the new Blitz stock mount intercooler. This may sound funny, but I also have to give a lot of credit to my "cheap bastard" stock airbox mod. I am running about 12.5 psi.
