Porting stock turbos/manifold
Porting stock turbos/manifold
i just picked up a set of twins that have mild port work to fit the clipped wheels in and a stock manifold. i was curious if porting the manifold/turbo assembly to gasket match would be benificial at all ? i have two working set of both so i was going to do it anyways but id just like to know before i put the effort in to installing them. thanks
can this be done whilst keeping the turbos sequential? Living in the uk, it would be tricky to get my manifold out to you, any chance of giving a rough set of instructions of what to do?
Yes, porting and reshaping has nothing to do with going nonsequential. I think David mentioned it with the nonsequential work because that's a perfect opportunity to do it, and it pays direct benefits in response with the nonsequential setup.
I am also keeping mine sequential. If you don't mind me asking , do you open up the side of the manifold that's against the housing? And how much of a power gain can be achieved through porting the mani/turbos? When I owned my srt4, the bigest power adders were through porting. I know you dont make money by sharing your techniques but if you could pm me some tips or things to do or stay away from that'd be awesome. Thanks
