Swamp RX-7

Just wanted to know how many people on here have had major problems with the tranny on the 3rd gen? I know the engine can be difficult at times(lord I know) but how about the tranny? Is it reliable, how long can it last with stock power? I'm just asking cuz I have a blown clutch, and I just replaced the motor a few months ago(which is still running awsome) and I don't want to have to replace the tranny anytime soon, if at all.

I'm not an expert on the subject, but the
only big tranny problem I know of is the 5th gear synchro,

if you shift badly into third, and hit it imbetween 3rd and 5th,
(probly takes more than one try to do this) you can ruin
the 5th gear synchro, causing it to grind when shifting gears.

IT's an inexpensive part, but you have to pull the tranny
which is really expensive labor.

Clutch is pretty good, but clutches wear out ,
it's like that on all cars. I know a guy who used to have a 300zx,
and he said he had to get a new clutch for that a bunch of times.

I "heard" of some guy needing a whole new tranny, but i only
heard of that one time, and i dont know what caused it.

Aside from that, I think the tranny's pretty good.
