Polishing wheels myself, what do I need?

Yes, I have done a search but did not find anything on polishing the wheels. What materials will I need, what kinda time frame am I looking at, and what price will it run me for all 4 wheels?

It's not worth it it takes a long time to polish.Just buy a new set.

It doesn't take that long. If you know what you're doing...you can do it fairly quickly...but yes it is labor intensive.

varing grits of sand paper
polishing wheels and alot of time
a dust mask- almnium dusk it very bad for you
the eastwood company has kits they sell with everythging you need

The above is right on the money.

If the surface is rough its gonna need to be ground down smooth, if its smooth already its just a matter of stripping off any coatings/paints & taking 2-3 different grades of rouge to it to get that desired sheen. The whole process is very TEDIOUS but if ur a learner it can be done. My guess on a STOCK FD wheel from start to finish wld be approximately 5 hrs/wheel. Thats for a beginner w/ the appropiate tools.
