Polishing Blitz Intake?

I guess I am just wondering if it can be done??? Not sure if it is made out of aluminum, or if it would shine up very well. Anyone done this? I am looking for ways to make my engine look nicer, and I thought this might help a little

Get a dremel with one of those little grinding tools, and go at the underside of it (so if it looks bad you won't see it) If it works, do the rest. If not, no harm done.

The adaptors between the intake pipes & filter itself can be polished fairly easily. The only prob is that there are (on mine at least) many "gashes" & pockmarks.... they didn't really make this thing with the intent of having it be polished smooth.
The heat shield is NOT aluminum, and will rust if you don't coat it with something
