wow. Did you clean up and remove the sequential control system stuff and use block off plates? It doesn't look like it from what I can see.

For fuel setup I'd go with some ID injectors for simplicity and ease of installation.

Time for some serious research...not having the supporting mods and trying to get it to boost on a stock ECU is proof of that. You're lucky it didn't boost because you would have been buying a new engine and probably replacing your turbo when all those apex seal pieces started flying through it.

I would suggest listening to the people on this forum rather than some random "tuning shop".

oh so its this guy....

surprised the engine is still intact.

Amberbeer 05-07-11 10:43 PM

You live in Cali, there are loads of good shops there, not like you're in Wasilla Alaska or something. There are guys in some states that would kill to have local access to those shops.

These guys may seem harsh but the kind of rebuild you are heading for would likely start at $5k and could go up from there.

It may be part of it, small compared to everything else that is wrong though.

Take it to a shop that knows rotaries, or you will blow the motor.

mr209ttrx7 05-07-11 11:09 PM

ok so update did some research and and found out i had the vac line in the wrong spot for the waist gate so i changed it and put it in the right location and now when i hit the gas at all it wont die it just bounces for a sec and then gos back to a 500-700 rpm idle

mr209ttrx7 05-07-11 11:24 PM

car is not moving till have my ecu and im towing it to a dyno shop

kalinakona 05-08-11 02:54 AM

By dyno shop do you mean rotary specialist?

mr209ttrx7 05-08-11 03:05 AM

i mean a shop the dus dyno tuning theres a few places out here that have tuned 13bs good

twinsinside 05-08-11 04:28 AM

So your plan is to just plug in a PFC and then tow it to the dyno and attempt to get it tuned?

XLR8 05-08-11 09:22 AM

Wow...

This thread = FAIL

UPGRADE YOUR FUEL SYSTEM!!! BIGGER INJECTORS, SUPRA PUMP!!!!

You removed the air pump. WHY did you keep the rats nest??????

TAKE IT TO A ROTARY SPECIALIST!!!!! NOT A TUNING SHOP!!

Yeah if you want to see it done right see this guys single turbo build thread ^^

MR_Rick 05-08-11 11:05 AM

I can see how this car will end up. There will be a f/s thread soon selling the car as a roller. Then he will go and buy another type of car and bad mouth FDs because they blow up too easy because he got his stock ECU "tuned".

mr209ttrx7 05-08-11 12:04 PM

no this car will not be sold i know its going to take awile im in no rush on it
and power fc i just bought will be shipped on mo or tu.

mr209ttrx7 05-08-11 12:18 PM

Link to Northern CA Rotary Shop thread here:

https://www.rx7club.com/west-rx-7-forum-193/northern-california-rotary-shop-thread-693971/

You'll need to travel a bit to find a shop that knows what they are doing. And a shop that knows what they are doing will cost you less than taking it to multiple shops that don't.

Do you even have the piping to the intercooler? You just have a bunch of piping from the turbo to the IC inlet but it isn't even properly connected. Then you have nothing from the outlet of the IC to where it should connect to the stock "elbow".

mr209ttrx7 05-08-11 12:36 PM

yes i got all the piping

adam c 05-08-11 02:11 PM

Ricks Rotary in the bay area has a good reputation. Please take it there before you blow the engine.

http://www.ricksrotary.com/

Also, please learn to type something legible!!!

mr209ttrx7 05-08-11 02:17 PM

ok ima look into there shop on mon.
will they be able to tune the power fc as well?

Amberbeer 05-08-11 04:01 PM

Look Mr209ttrx7, ask the guys on this forum for a known good tuner in your area. They want to help you. You are killing us out here! We don't want to see you have a bad experience. This isn't a piston engine that ANYONE can learn to tune over a weekend. A rotary is not a forgiving motor, however when properly tuned is mechanical genius. Please take the advice given.

mr209ttrx7 05-08-11 04:34 PM

ok ill be makin alot of calls to places to see if they have any experience with it evin if it means traveling

XLR8 05-08-11 07:00 PM

HOW are you controlling boost? (WG spring, boost controller)

The factory injectors can handle around 300whp, then it gets dangerous. If you haven't upgraded your fuel system, why are you even looking for a tune? A T66 is a good size turbo that can make over 300whp on 10psi likely. Why would you risk running out of injector?

You said that you are in no hurry, but your words are proving otherwise. Why don't you...

1. Remove the rats nest & block-off emissions properly.
2. Perform single turbo wiring harness modification. Test all connectors in the process.
3. Upgrade your fuel system properly. Including injectors, pump, fuel pressure regulator.
4. Find a quality rotary shop to review your car & setup with you, then tune it.

There is TONS of information on this forum. Start with the FAQ thread. You need to relax, and spend some time reading.

mr209ttrx7 05-08-11 07:43 PM

ok update parts coming in
power fc with commander and data logger
fuel upgrade parts such as 1680 injectors new fuel rail fuel regulator and resistors
also all the block off plates ill need
starting tomarow i will be starting the removal of the rats nest
