color of the RIMS....car?? sigh....

As I said different people has different opnion, please respect others especially we are on the same forum. U can't call people stupid or dump because others has different opnion with you. I dont think 20 chrome rims on FD is rice but thats just my opnion and I won't call you stupid if you think so...

Speaking of reading messages... ahem... If you actually look back, I didn't call you dumb or stupid..

However, I did say that "saying" something was rice based on color was stupid/dumb.

Saying that someone with stock rims that are yellow is rice, however someone with stock rims that are black is not rice... IMO, that makes no sense...

What does make sense, IMO, is 20" rims on a performance vehicle being rice. I would say the same thing if the car was a Mustang, Supra, etc.. That makes more sense since the application on large wheels only hampers performance, thus being rice, not useful.

We will never agree on what is rice.

Those who prefer no NPT will likely say NPT is rice.
Those who prefer just a little NPT will likely say overdoing it is rice.
Those who prefer to coat the car inside and out with expensive NPT will say cheap NPT is rice.
Those who prefer cheap NPT will likely get pissed if you call their car rice.

To me, NPT = rice.

NPT = Non-Performance Tuning.

"rice" is just a way of someone saying "ello chap! I do think your automobile was done in rather poor taste. How about some tea and crummpets!"

My car is pretty ricey IMO. Why would someone put 18x7.5" wheels on an FD? I will never know.

I don't get it, why does everyone hates this car so much just because it has a supra motor in it and that everyone seems to give jimlab props for dropping a V8 in his 7??????

I know that most people probably view the supra as the 7's top competitor and all, but at least the engine is still a japanese turbo engine...

Look at that hood and the stickers... it looks ridiculous. The FD looks best when it's kept simple and clean. Changing out the engine is a matter of choice, but going too far with body kits, stickers, etc...

That's like painting dogs playing poker on the walls of the Sistine chapel.

Why is that car rice? Because it's pink? If it's for that reason and you don't like the color than shouldn't you call it ugly instead?

I don't mean to jump on you but I'm wondering why a Pink RE Amemiya rx7 convertible with the porsche conversion is rice?

Everyone has their own definition of rice but come on now that car is well built, everything lines up nicely and alot of effort went into that car. Not to mention I'm sure it's got engine mods done to it.

Rice to me is a honda with cut springs rollin on "bling" hub caps(snap and shines) with 50 stickers on it and a chrome fire extingisher mounted on the passenger side a-pillar.

Tom Ngo's car is rice..(It has/had a mugen sticker on it for christ sakes)

Oh well like I said everyone has their own opinions I guess..

I agree. And that 7 won the Tokyo Auto Salon that year (or one of the years it was in). I don't understand how people can say that anything from RE Amemiya is rice. All of us 7 owners are Amemiya Isami's bitches...he owns us...he can do whatever the hell he wants.

I think that rice is having a certain look and not being able to back it up. A car trying to be something it's not.

one thing that all should know is that first and foremost, REAmemiya is a body shop. the business was started that way and it continues to develop interesting and functional aerodynamic parts which is why the need to attract the kind of attention their cars do is necessary. after all, he IS in the business to make money right?? and his cars DO attract your attention right?? enough said.

I had the displeasure of seeing that monstrosity in person and almost gagged. Aquamonster himself is around 7 feet tall and looks like he weighs 90 lbs--he and the car were a pretty combo. At least he had the consideration to destroy a slushbox FD .
