Please help (Spring install)

Thanks in advance for anyone that can lead me in the right direction here. I am trying to install some new springs on my car and am unable to remove the spring/shock assembly. I can get the top and bottom bolts off the the suspension but, after that I cannot figure out how to remove the assembly from the car. Do I have to remove the upper or lower A arms? Should I remove the torsion bar? Please help!

Thanks,

Matthew Walsh

For the fronts (assuming you have both front wheels off the ground), yes unbolt the upper A arm.

If you have the factory manual, it has all the steps needed in there.

mahjik is correct as usual.

scuderia or robinette's site has install info.

you will need a spring compressor to get the springs on/off.

You can get the ghetto version of this at auto zone...but honestly I would take off your shocks..run to monro real fast and ask them to change the springs for yah..that would SAVE you a huge head ache....

go here : http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/shocks.htm

Honestly, just use the tool that you can rent for free from auto zone, it's not that ghetto and works perfectly (just did this a month ago). Also, make sure that you have both sides of the car jacked up. The front shocks wont come out unless you do .
