Please help with smog, free b/j for whoever can help

Hey all I just failed emissions for the second time today, first test I failed last week. i removed my PFC and put the stock computer back in, boost is set to 7lbs and the only mods on the car now are Pettit intake, DP, high flow cat, and n1 catback. I am really low on everything except for the 15, 25mph test of HC. The max is like 50 or so and I am testing around 110. I really need the car to pass soon so I can get it registered and take care of a ticket. I am sure my girlfriend will be happy to reward anyone who can give me some solid info (j/k, but I will be appreciative.), thanks all

Put your original cat back on and give it a try. Also do you still have your smog pump? That will help too.

Try changing the spark plugs and O2 sensor. Also see if the air pumps "split air" pipe is attached to the high flow cat.

go to pep-boys or something, they have those emission cleaner. It works for me. Also ask around and borrow someone's cat. Before you go the the test, run your car on the highway for about half hour or so. It will help too.

there is a trick too. But PM me for that trick.

I am sure you already did this...but it can't hurt.

Make sure the car has run for at least 15 minutes before you get it tested. The longer it has run the better.

Also, make sure the bone head testing the car stays out of boost.

Later,
Patrick

You can also change the spark plugs to all 7's and that'll help you pass the test. Since they won't be revving high or flooring the gas pedal, your engine should be fine. Just don't run it long term, like a couple of weeks. That's too long for your mod.

make sure your air pump is working properly.

i failed a couple of pre-tests which dont get counted officially, and the reason was HC rate was too high (both 15, and 25mph). CO, NO were no problem.

my air pump looked working properly until i found out that air pump's pulley was rotating but the center bolt area wasnt rotating at all. checked with volt-meter and found out that it wasnt getting any power.

if your main-cat is not clogged, you should be able to pass smog test.

just listen to fellow members' advices, and like jr mentioned, double check if 'split-air' pipe to the hi-flow cat is connected cause there is chance that previous owner left the 'split-air' pipe disconnected.

good luck

slip $20 in the testers pocket. if he is a cool and young guy, hell pass you. also, it helps if you have friends or family that own garages that do smog checks.
