Please Help asap, No boost from primary turbo
Hooked a boost guage up to my 93 rx7 today...and my car has perfect vacuum....then under accleration did 3rd gear roll on from 40mph......boost guage goes up to 0 psi.maybe 1 if any.and holds there......til 4500 then 2nd turbo kicks in it seems and car holds 10psi to redline. Car has had no symptoms of problems.and always babied....car is stock btw. So any ides of what this could be??? I always heard # 2 turbo go bad but not #1......so any ideas woudl be greatly appreciated. I know there is alot it could..so this is why i ask you guys to point me in right direction of where to look or test.
thanks

First off you have to have primary boost, other wise you can never build secondary boost. The question is where is it going. My question would be have you done anything to your car recently. I had this same problem after my vacuum hose job. It was a couple of crossed hoses on one of the solenoids controlling the TC.

Hmmmm, well according to the boost guage i have 0 all the way til 4500....and car feels like it has no "turbo" power up to that point. Yes new stock engine is only thing that is new,so probably a hose or something hooked up wrong?? Anyone have any ideas on where to begin looking?? As you said the pressure i am building has to be going somewhere i guess..since the secondary turbo is kicking in at 4500 like it is supposed to. S all help or ideas is appreciated.

Have you checked the wastegate solenoid? It may be getting stuck before the transition allowing pressure stay within the wategate allowing it to stay open and allow very little exhaust to get to the turbo.
There really isn't a whole lot to prevent the 1st turbo from boosting. The precontrol or turbo control flap may be stuck open, but you would still see SOME boost coming on. Have you done a visual on it to make sure the turbine spins freely?
