Unhappy Places other than KDR?

Well, it seems I've cracked an apex seal on the rear rotor (low compression on that rotor). From the many posts on the forum, KD Rotary seems like 'the' place to have it rebuilt (especially since I'm on Long Island), but given the wait list for work (a few months), I'm not so sure I'm that patient. Are there any other shops with a good reputation like KDR that are in the Northeast and will serice your car on a more prompt basis? Or, should I just get on the list, and sit tight? BTW, I'd like to do the reliability upgrades and probably a street port.

Are you sure thats all you need is a repair.. I would be worried about the block and turbos. was there shrapnel? is it a coner seal? I have heard some having weird compression after rebuilds like 7-1,11-1,9-11 in other words not consistent at all. should one be concerned about that?

We should have a list of nationwide RX-7 tuners on this site somewhere. Makes it easier for everyone.

Hey Joes95RX7:
We'll find out about the turbos and the block when it's opened-up. I suspect a cracked (not fractured) apex seal, as I still have 15lbs. in the rotor in question. Additionally, although the car will not idle smoothly, it still runs OK in mid-range, and still builds boost. So, I expect that the turbos are Ok, and who knows about the block. Fingers are crossed, though......
