pipe on main cat, need to plug?

hey guys, i removed the air pump and all the tubing but not the main cat.

I will put a midpipe soon but i would like to know if i need to block the pipe that come sout of the main cat or do i just leave it unplugged? Will i have exhaust coming back through this pipe?

Yes, plug it. I guess you could leave the check valve attached, but it's better to just be certain. Exhaust gas is hot stuff.

hmm ok, any idea what i could plug it with? it's not like if i could put a rubber plug on that. although, the lines are made out of rubber....

I did the same thing. Just use the rubber that was already on there and put a bolt in it or something. I actually used an old spark plug.

I've been wondering about what other mods you folks who remove the air pump have, which compensates for the loss of air delivered to the exhaust ports. There is a label on our '94's air pump which states "DO NOT REMOVE AIR PUMP." Without that extra O2 at the port (I learned on this forum), the O2 sensor will send too rich a mixture reading to the PCME (which is "expecting" a leaner reading) and as a result the PCME will lean out the actual A/F mixture going into the rotor chambers. How do you avoid that?

It means the stock ecu is a pos that doesn't support modding. BTW what's a PCME? Are you talking about hte stock ecu?
