I'm installing new 4.77 gears and a new diff - I've been able to deal with every thing so far except the collar used to setup a test mount of the pinion, spacer and bearing so that pinion depth can be measured.

If they would only include the length of that collar in the manual this would be a piece of cake.

Does anyone know the length of this SST?

If not, I can make some guesstimates until it is fairly close and then measure the depth of the old pinion setup and compare to the new one.

The part # 49 J027 002 on page M-22 of the service manual.

The real part # is probably more like 49J0-27-002 which conforms to current parts catalogs.

What I really need though is just the length of this thing.
