PICTURES of stock wheels painted darker
Anyone have pictures of their stock wheels painted a dark gun metal or painted black??
One of my friends said paint them black with a red ring.. the racer look.. but there is a thin line between racer and ricer .. I don't want to be the latter.
THANKS
ALLEN

Ok, these are 99 Japanese wheels gunmetal color on my black car, just so you can use it for reference. Sorry, my camera was a gift and doesn't take the best pictures. And the car had just been put on these wheels after sitting on jackstands for months, and it has no motor (or seats) and the body panels are laying on there so don't trip about the wheel gaps or any of that **** -- it'll settle and it's missing a lot of weight. Paint is fucked up, too ... thank you AutoWerks in Raleigh, NC for destroying my car. Mmm ... rusty rotors (no brakes either).

Sand blasted the **** out of them. WIth many different grades of sand.. Got them to a polished like look.. Then went up 2 #'s to get a tooth
Then I used a de greaser. Let it dry... Then 2 coats of Gun metal and then 4 coats of clear... Its not chipping off now.. And i doubtit ever will!!

on montego blue
Thanks for the pic DK....anyone have black/dark rim pics on montego blue?
I think the dark color rims look great on the bright color cars..yellow/red but I'm worried on the montego blue it may be too much dark for the color..
hmmm

I have a friend with black painted stock 3rd Gen wheels and I mounted them on my Montego Blue to see how it looked and didnt really like it. It might just be me though because I'm not really into the black wheels thing.
Guess thats not too much help but thought I'd throw it out there

usually you want to put dark wheels, on lighter color cars,
like red, or ESPECIALLY orange(ever seen a mclaren F1 LM ??)
but gunmetal is not black, black doesnt look good on that
many colors.
usually black(batmobile look, hehe), or yellow, are good.
But gunmetal looks great on almost anything,
even darker colors. But especially on the lighter colors.
White wheels might be pretty good on an FD also.
But I dont know about painting the stock wheels white.
