I did the same thing a few weeks ago while putting on my new Brembo rotors. My old rotors were rustbuckets so I had these cad plated (has a gold tint) to prevent rusting. I painted mine black with 500 degree engine paint and used red touch up paint for the Mazda lettering. Looks awesome. Red and (puke) yellow calipers fade and look a little rikkish though. 7sins look nice though

Hey guys...looking to have my calipers painted up as well. I'm not much a mechanic and apprehensive about taking off my brakes. Not really sure what the best wait to do this is...
Can't really take it to a brake shop... do body shops do this?
Unless there is anyone local (southern connecticut) that would want to help me out.
Appreciate the help.

I don't see how the white letters will hold up to the heat? if the intended purpose of the paint was for model cars, how can it withstand the high temps that the Brakes will Cause. Even 500 degrees from the clear coat might not be enough. I know that if you do some hard braking, it can get up to 800 degrees F or more.

Besides, if it doesn't hold up, you can just solvent/scrub it off and start again

So far it has held up great, with the clear coat you can just wipe brake dust off. I also did DontBeARikkis calipers and they are looking sweet.

Check these out:
~The brake rotor is black because I also sanded off the rust and painted them with High Temp flat black paint. I didn't bother to mask the rotors faces because the paint would just be rubbed off the first time I drove the car. Now you can't see that ugly rust on the rotors when you look through the wheel spokes.

Wow, those look really good, very shiny!
Now I am confused, I was already to paint mine red, but now with the black and the silver examples I can't decide. At first I though of yellow to contrast my red car but that would be too ricey. I think Brembos are red so I'll probably do that and try to make it really shiny like xstacy7.

ah, yes... Batman, an inspiration to us all haha... looks great, and yes it does need some tint but if i may suggest one more thing, smoke the clear side marker you have on your front bumper, it sticks out like a sore thumb. but otherwise, beautiful car man!
