I did buy a press to do my bushings and pillow bearings. Harbor freight - $120 for a 12 ton press. They also have some smaller bench top presses that will probably do the job just fine.

If you are driving the car around you really do need that AST...As a friendly suggestion, I would find some extra parts or something that you don't need and sell them. Then take the $$ and get a replacement AST and install ASAP!

I do understand though...my wife gets pretty hot about spending $$ on the car sometimes too....but if I sell something and use that money to buy stuff for the car..she doesn't seem to mind as much..worth a try anyway...

This is my 3rd FD, and EVERY single OEM AST has cracked.....don't chance it too long....

Also, you do need to do something about all the heat your engine is breathing....that would be priority #2....but at least you have a good radiator....keep the temps down...

By the way, the car looks great! Hope you don't mind the repeating comments and suggestions too much.

Actually, I do have some parts for sale. I just haven't taken the pics and posted them yet. Maybe I'll do that tonight. I have the factory toe links, trailing arms (w/ new Jim Lab bushings and grease zerks), radiator, driver side black doorpanel, and I think some other things. I'll have to look around the garage.

Thanks everyone for all of the comments, I even appreciate the negative ones. Mostly because I agree that sometimes I procrastinate more than I should. Hopefully, I can start on the duct for the IC this weekend. Now that I've been a little hammered on the situation I feel like I've committed spousal abuse to my car. If I can sell some of the parts to offset the cost of the AST, I'll order it ASAP.
