Pick up my streetported FD from KD tomorrow!!!!!

I have been without my FD for 5 months now. I had a coolant seal go bad and had my car towed to KD Rotary in early April. I told him to wait on mine since I wanted to save money for other mods since I needed a new engine I should "do it right" Before the engine went I had a dp, cb exhaust, RB air inlet w/ k/n filter, ACT clutch and #9.5 flywheel. Since then I've added a intercooler, better intake, streetported engine, Power FC, radiator, gone non-sequential, power pulley, and hi-flo cat, strut-tower bar, and front sway bar. Do you think I'll notice a difference?? I'm too excited but I know I have to break the engine in That sucks! I plan on putting the 1000 miles on quick so I can let it rip. I'll keep everyone posted on the kills

I was just there today to pick up my FD. Your car looks pretty sweet. Actually, it was parked right next to mine.

Barry,
This is Ed in Harrisburg. Glad to see you got your RX7 back. So, what is the scoop, how does it run?
I defininely want to get a ride in it, and check it out. I still have my FD, so shoot me an email and we can go for a cruise.

Hi Barry...
What happens in that first 1000 miles to the engine? What kind of seals did you go with? And what kind of Vaccuum are you getting at idle? What are you Idleing at too? Are you still using a
Air-pump as well?
I just got my engine rebuilt as well. I just got 600 miles on it.
And can't wait either.... there have been a couple Mustangs
already taunting me. If they only new... Just 400 more miles and they will see...
thanks for the info... and best wishes with the new Engine... jack

Holy FD mother or $%^& My car is the loudest car on the planet!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stand it. Turns out that the hi-flo cat that I bought from a guy on partstrader ended up being completely gutted and is basically a midpipe. Dave told me to take it for a drive but warned me how loud it was I couldn't even hear myself think. I did step into it a little no problems there just need to fix the sound problem. My vacuum readings have been a solid 20 and after warmup around 18-19. Idling has fluctuated from around 1500 rpms to around 850 when warmed up. Dave told me to "not" baby it but to boost it a little until 500 miles - change oil and filter - run it a little more up to around 6K rpms and when it hits 1000 miles then let it rip. I can't wait. The non-sequential definitely feels some lag down low - the turbos seem to spool more steadily than quickly but I never really laid into it though. The way it sits tuned for 13psi Dave said it should pull 345-355 rwhp and be a high 11 second car That's fine with me. Not sure whether I should get a silencer or a hi-flo cat - what do you guys think. I'll start a thread in the 3rd gen section to get some ideas. By the way I went with the 2mm Hurley seals. The list that Dave did to my car was 2 pages long - mostly silicone seals, o-rings, and reliablilty mods. Ed, I'll shoot you an email as soon as I hit the 1000 mile mark.

Hey Barry,
Wow is your vaccuum ever high... On my street port it only shows 12 @ 850 rpm. And are you using Cat-back now? I have the Blitz Stainless w/ a Borla xr-1 in the midpipe and it's realy quiet until you opener up... If you can not stand the noise I would add a Borla into the mid-pipe as well. They also flow quite well too. best wishes with the new engine....

xr1 as MP, hmm! nice.

the FD exhaust note is the trickiest thing to pull off. I loved the straight pipe/N1 sound at first fire up. On the cold idle maps it's rowdy as hell! But WFO it was a bit much. Ok, it was the whole freaking world exploding around you!

GMonsen (sp?) pls pls pls tell us all how / where to get your adjustable exhaust!!!!!!!!!!!!!
