Exclamation PFC questions regarding cooling (I searched)

I recently installed the pfc+ commander. One thing I noticed is that after the install, my water temperatures are consistently higher than before (as shown on my linearlized stock temp guage. Also, my stock fans kick on when i turn off the ignition, something that normally doesnt happen (car hotter than 220F). I was wondering if this is normal and why that would be the case. Does the pfc "lean out" the mixture at all RPMS?

Also, on the PFC, the temperature will build to ~105C and stay there regardless of whether I'm sitting at idle or on the freeway. Under heavy load, I've seen it get to 110C. I noticed other forum members mention that while they were cruising or turn on their fans, the temps would drop to 90C or so. I find this not to be the case, the temperatures will only drop from ~105C maybe 10 min after the car is turned off. Previously, the temperatures seemed to drop under light load with the fans on.

This is my cooling situation

50/50 prestone mixture
stock rad, stock fans, alum ast
no coolant leaks.

What else did you do the car when you installed the PFC? By default, the PFC turns the fans on LOW at 99C or 210F. This is significantly before the stock ecu at 105C or 221F.

Either something else is malfunctioning coincidentally, or you changed something else during the PFC install and that is causing the hot running.

poss, the answer is yes if you're talkign about that plastic piece that extends from the front bumper to the front of the oil pan.

rynberg, I have the AC relay pulled, and run the fans on setting 3 pretty much consistently. Tehre's no real change in temerature reading on eithe rthe stock guage or the PFC.

Do you think a stuck thermostat could be the prbolem?

Air in the cooling system (or exhaust escaping into the coolant system ) can cause your temperatures to be high like that.

Thanks a lot for your input. I will replace the thermostat and see what happens.
