PFC Boost control kit cable question

Hi,

I have a PFC boost control kit. I am running sequentials, and will set it up as per the AVC-R instructions (Solenoid controlling Pre control and wastegate actuators).

My question is, I know I have to connect the new MAP sensor to the PFC. But the cable is like 8 inches long. Is my cable short, or am I missing something? There is no way this can reach from the PFC to inside the engine bay.

Thanks

The small cable that you posted is for the stock map sensor to plug into to be used as a barometric correction for the PFC I believe. The stock harness will now accept the 3 bar apexi/denso unit.

I personally extended the aux harness to the stock map location and plugged the stock map into it and pulled the stock harness over a little to accommodate the 3 bar sensor.

Not the best pic to show the location, but it is just off to the right next to the hal light in the pic. It bolts right in without any modifications to the harness or sensor and can easily be seen if it does slip off for quick visual inspection.

Do you really need the stock sensor also connected? I have been running mine without it, without problems.

Thanks for the reply rotary101, but there are a few things I don't understand.

"stock map sensor to plug into to be used as a barometric correction"

and

"plugged the stock map into it and pulled the stock harness over a little to accommodate the 3 bar sensor."

The instructions with the kit seem to say replace the stock MAP sensor with the Apexi one. The plugs on the cable make sense with this, as one end fits to the ecu, and the other has the same plug as the stock MAP sensor cable. It's just the length that puzzles me.

My initial thoughts were to just make the cable longer, remove stock MAP sensor, and use the apexi one, or is that completely wrong?

I think the answer to that is probably no you don’t, but why not if it is just sitting there as dead weight or in a box? It cant hurt, and they probably put it there for a good reason. I think theoretically you should be able to tune a little less conservatively and still retain the running parameters that have been programmed into the ecu when changing weather and atmospheric anomalies occur.

Ya, posted that in a hurry sorry

I simply mean I did extend the harness that you posted and then plugged it into both the stock map sensor in the stock location and the side of the PFC.

Then I used the stock existing map harness and plugged it into the new apexi boost kit 3 bar map sensor so I did not have to hack up the original harness or do anything to the sensor to make it fit, yet I can still keep my eye on the silicone connections for reassurance that it is always connected and in good working order.
