Pettit ECU runs super rich?

I believe my car is running extremely rich and hurting my performance. Is it due to my Pettit ECU?

Mods:

Mild StreetPort 3mm seals
Downpipe
High Flo Cat
Apexi N1 Exhaust
Apexi Intakes with Piping
Pettit ECU @ 11psi
Non Seq Turbo's

I hardly drive the car, use it mainly on Friday and Saturday only. Well lately I notice my car is not performing to its potential and I can tell. It just feels like it isn't moving as fast as it should be with all the mods put on.

Well today I took her back out since its Friday and during my lunch break I went to grab food and decided lets open her up a little bit in 2nd gear and when I did a swirl of black smoke came out of my exhaust, with that in mind I slowed down so I can start over in 2nd and try boosting hard again to see if it would smoke again, so I boost again and nothing, no smoke. But I can feel my lack in power, it just doesn't feel like its producing what it should be.

I go back to work and let the car run on the turbo timer to cool down from the boosting and sit and watch my exhaust, nothing pouring out but you can smell the fuel coming out from about 4-6 feet away. My friend then tells me he sometimes see's black smoke fly out when I boost when he is following me.

I know this is hurting my performance. Before my Streetport and intakes and HighFlo Cat I ran a 13.7 @ 105mph at the drag strip, just recently I went back and ran a crappy 14.2 @ 99mph, I am concerned, shouldn't I be faster than before with the StreetPort, Intakes, and High Flo Cat?

Is my only solution to pick up a Apexi Power FC and have my car tuned to correct A/F ratio's?

If so I think I will run 1300sec. upgraded fuel pump and have her tuned. Is this a good idea? Thanks for anyone who inputs their opinion.

Your correct on your solution, possibly time for an upgrade in ECU. Also do you have an aftermarket IC?
Also try cleaning or chaning your spark plugs to get the performance back (at least for now) or some more ignition to light up the rich mix.

You should be running slightly quicker based upon those mods, but I wouldn't necessarily blame the Pettit ECU for the poor performance. While my FD runs a bit on the rich side with it, it's not enough to detract from the performance; the car runs strong with it, and I just have a stock port w/DP, hi-flow cat, RB dual CB, and M2 airbox.

That said, a PFC is always better than re-mapped stock ECU...

the only way to know for sure is put it on a dyno and check your a/f ratio across the rpm band

but yes, with your mods (stock cat back??), the Pettit chip will run comfortably fat....keep in mind it was designed for FULL exhaust (including mp), street port, and big IC (which is what I run and I'm happy with my performance, still need to do dyno testing tho)

the PowerFC or Haltech is the way to go for tunability, but the Pettit ECU offers great bang for the buck if you just run all the bolt ons and dont plan on going single or upgraded twins anytime soon....one guy on here made 350 at the wheels with it

Well I went to the track and the car was just not performing at all! I am really disappointed with it's performance.

I was running on street tires and my 0-60ft were from 2.1-2.2 which I don't consider to bad when on street tires.

But the worst part is I ran 14.4's all night long and my trap speed's were only 97-99mph never could go into the 100's.

What should I do now to gain back my performance that I am losing? Should I grab a Power FC, 1300cc secondaries injectors and tune my car?

Would my stock IC be hurting my performance? Or is the whole problem in my stock clutch?

For reference, *after* the high flow Bonez cat, my Pettit Unlimited ECU runs in the 11.5-11.7 a/f ratio area. So its tuned for high 10's to low 11's. Only thing im missing is an IC, and this run was done at 10psi.
