pettit DP and turbo studs

I have heard you do not have to remove the turbo studs to install the pettit DP and i have also heard the opposite.

Would anyone who has installed the Pettit DP please respond and tell me one way or the other. This is a relatively urgent matter b/c I am attempting the install now.

Lastly, is there a way to get to the Turbo Studs w/o removing the pre-cat heat shield? I cant seem to get to the 2nd bolt (the one right under the ABS heat shield) from the bottom. That little bastard wont come easy.

Thanks for the help!

Also - i can only see 3 studs - am i to assume that the 4th is an allenbolt that needs to come out? it would be the upper left one when looking at the studs as they go into the turbos

Did you take out the ABS heat shield? Do that first. Remove the two heat shield bolts near the engine, then loosen the others. Then carefully lift the ABS unit and sneak the shield out.

Now, get the precat heat shield out. It's annoyingly tight, but it can be done.

Then you should see all four studs. On my Pettit DP I removed all of them and replaced them with 316 stainless socket head cap screws (allen bolts).
