Pettit- the base performance package

Is the base performance package worth $1200 + shipping. From surfing the net I've seen all of the products that come with this package for all much less than this. But am I missing something, does this package come with something more, and is it worth it?

Well, I don't see the point of pulleys, and the other two components:

Most expensive intake on market = $475 (M2)
Typical exhaust = $500

=$975

You do the math....

you can get pulleys for less but i just wouldn't get that hot air intake. spend the extra $85 and get the m2 or some other box.

Their intake is priced way to high for what you get.

Spend 300 for a Down pipe, and 40 bucks for an autometer boost gauge. That will get you started.

pettit is generally overpriced on the parts they sell. They also refused to install my unorthodox pulleys for me.

Okay it IS overpriced and not very pretty either but I'll at least respond that I have it and I have liked it. Enough to buy it again after wrecking my other car.

pettit backs up their products and have excellent service which is probably why the $$$ is high. the intake is not as pretty but with the heatsheild which is included it draws same amount of cool air as the m2. if the haters disagree show me a dyno sheet

I agree. Petitt has been pretty good with me. There have been some minor hiccups but they have always made everything right. Also when I needed copies of bills for my insurance company (totalled the car) the sent me a fedEx package with all my invoices purchased from them over night which I really appreciated.

No need to call anyone a hater because they have a different opinion than you have.

I also think the petit intake is overpriced. I think the M2 design is better. A modified stock airbox can work better than both if done right

No one is hating on Pettit here. They are top notch we are just saying it's PRICEY and no I'am not gonna pay an extra 150 bucks for a flimsy aluminum heat shield I could of made in 6th grade shop class.

thats true but there are some pettit hater on the forum that dis them just because their prices are high...your have your opinion and I have already shared mine. I will keep my pettit airbox and you can keep your modified stock.

BTW if you buy the package you can usually get a discount

No doubt. I would have saved a fortune. I'm parting out a second car and it's sick what these parts go for. I was raped...sodomized...and then denied the reach around.

LOL.. OUCH! I try to buy as much stuff used as I can... Well, simple stuff anyway... Intakes, Y-pipes, Downpipes, exhausts... That kinda crap. I've saved tons. Might be the dumpster diver of FD drivers, but with some polish work and a little time, you'd think I paid a fortune!

And your cooling that extremely cold air intake charge down further with that modified stock IC too?

Pettit's intake is an eye sore. But I'm satisified with the power I'm making for the money I've spent.
