Pettit.....

Has anyone ever taken their car to Pettit to sort out a boost, ignition, or air/fuel problem. If so, how much did they charge, and how efficient were they?

I've never had my car there, but that's the first place I would trust to fix a problem. I've called them many times and they have always been helpful. If there is a problem with a car, they'll find it and fix it.

I had my car there for a tranny rebuild and diff mounts. Cam found a bad solenoid limiting my primary boost during a test drive and replaced it. Because I have never driven another FD or even another turbo car, I never new anything was wrong. Car runs great now and the price was completely worth it. Their rates are not bad at all. A dealer would be MUCH more IMO.

How consistent are they with the times of completion of your projects were they? Other words, did they get the job done in a timely fashion?

Yeah i'd say they do work pretty quickly, they're taking apart my engine and sealing it back up in one week. I say that's pretty good considering they're working on a 3 rotor conversion and they have at least 5 other rx7's that need similar work done like mine.

Also Cam called me saying i might need a rebuild/new engine; i was discouraged since this was so much money. Two day's later he called me back after running a full day of tests and told me the rebuild wasn't nessacary. They've been more than honest with me and they have my buisness from now on.

Again, I'd be glad to give you a hand - there's very little on an RX-7 I can't fix or diagnose. PM me.

Dale

DVSseven,

Meet up with Dale. Dale is offerring his help. I have no doubt that Pettit would solve your problem but it won't be cheap.

Have Dale take a look at it and show him what's happening. If he's unable to help you (which I doubt it), then take it to Pettit.

What he said!

Dale has been seriously working on RX-7s for the better part of a decade.
