This was dug up from the grave yard. I haven't changed my seat yet. I am currently using a Momo Competition steering wheel. This helped with knee clearance. I also bought a CWR small wide foot adaptor for the gas pedal to help with heal & toe. I bent my brake pedal bracket also. I definitely need a new seat but I want to keep the car as a daily driver. If I put in the seat I want ( Sparco Corsa ), The ease of getting in and out will be diminished greatly. I know I whine but I am spoiled and don't like climbing in through the window of street cars any more. Been there and done that.

I'm 6'2" with a sunroof. While the cars without are certainly much better, with the seat back a bit and the right helmet I fit. With the wrong helmet it's not even close MOMO wheel definately helps.
Heel and toe is bloody difficult though, sadly.

im just under 6'5" and i didnt have too much trouble. i do have kinda long arms so i was able to sit back a little, but not a ricer lean or anything. rpm_pwr is right though, heel/toe is next to impossible. i didnt try it too much in the FDs ive sat in, but i know in every 240 ive driven i have to heel/toe backwards with my heel on the brake and the ball of my foot matching RPMs

Modify the FD seats
I know this post is old, but I need some info. First off I am new to this forum. I drive a S14 240SX with a SR20DET that is well modded. The only car that I like more than mine (that is in my price range is a FD.) Now here is the other thing. I am 6'9". (For some reason I love fast nimble small cars.) Anyway I modified the seat rails on my S14 for more leg room and I can actually heel/toe reasonably well.
So my question is would it be possible to modify the seat rails on a FD. Or here is another way to say it, is there room left behind the driver seat when it is all the way back. Thanks
Rob

I'm 6'3" and I have driven in both a touring and a base. I personally was very uncomfortable in the one with the sunroof, but I like to sit up as straight as possible. I think it completely depends on how you seat yourself. For someone as tall as you or me, however, I really do think that extra 1/2" to and 1" is a large benefit of not having a sunroof.

I think that 6'9" will be pushing it, although I would be willing to bet that it is possible. You will probably have to make some modifications to fit though. As for leg room, you may need to remove the rear bins in order to get enough leg room, but that should not be that big of a problem.
I think your real problem will be headroom. Be sure and get one without a sunroof. I am only 6'2" and I have to drive with my seat pretty reclined to get enough headroom. You may be able to lower the seat rails to give you more headroom (I have thought about doing this also). I don't know how difficult that would be, but almost anything is possible if you have enough patience, creativity, and of course money...
The bottom line is, if you ar 6'9", you will definitely have to make some modifications to fit (and you still might not be extremely comfortable). But you could probably pull it off.
Good Luck!

Get some racing bucket seats and mount them to the floor. Lot's of headroom, and it allows you to explore the limits of lateral acceleration that an FD is capable of.

I'm 5'10" and have some clearance issues in my touring when I'm wearing a helmet. The overall height isn't the limiting factor, but I think I have shorter legs than, so that my upper body is a little too tall. Without a helmet, it's totally fine obviously.
Does anybody know if the R1 seats are positioned lower than the touring leather seats?

I'm 6'8" and about 250 lbs. I just got a chance to sit in a '93 touring (my first try at fitting in a gen 3) and I found that the car was much bigger than I thought it would be. I used to drive a '91 MR2 T, and the fd felt like it had a bit more leg room. My only complaint was that the steering wheel rubbed on both of my knees, a problem easily fixed. I would however like to try sitting in a non-sunroof car.

I'm 6-1, have a sunroof, and drive in a pretty upright position, granted I recline the seat a bit. But I have two inches of hair, and that gets squished (beethoven head. . . can't help it, and don't want a buzzcut). That's not a big deal, but if I'm sporting the hair spray, the ceiling gets sticky.
