Question Peak revs warning buzzer

Driving home early in the morning recently I had the delightful opportunity to take my 1999 RB to the rev limit in the upper gears. However the warning buzzer came on as she hit peak revs in fourth. Changing up, the buzzer came on again momentarily even though the revs had dropped accordingly. I was not powershifting at all and I completely released the gas as I dipped the clutch. Alarmed, I backed off after the second alert just to be safe.

Could this be just a quirk or was the car telling me something? There is no indication of any malfuntioning. No odd noises, vibrations, warning lights etc.

Cheers!

Could be a quirk, or maybe the RPMs DID hop up for just a quickie. Also, remember that the tach isn't an EXACT representation of the engine RPMs....it has a very slight delay.

I have hit that buzzer quite a few times. The exact moment that the buzzer comes on has never been consistent. I wouldn't be worried about hearing it a couple times at slightly different indicated RPM...I would just watch it to make sure you don't over-rev. Should be OK to 8000, right?
