Pcme, Ecu, Cpu...
This might sound like a bit of a silly question but I'll ask it anyway...
Throughout the FSM the Powertrain Control Module Engine and Transmission are talked about and referred to as PCME and PCMT, ok, fair enough, then you have CPU #1 and CPU #2 mentioned, ok. So, the question is, when people refer to the "ECU" in general is that the PCME, one of the others or something else? Am starting to confuse myself as I've been reading the forums and the FSM trying to solve a problem but quite a few things get referred to with different names.
Sorry if it's a bit of a noob/silly question, just wanted to clear it up.

i dont know which one is referring to the pcme and pcmt, but the "ecu" everyone commenly refers to on the forums is the one located in the passanger side kick panal.
this ecu should have inputs and outputs for the crank angle sensor, injectors, map sensor ect. their are other ecus in the car like the airbag ecu, but nothing with quite as many inputs/outputs.
what is the specific problem your car is having? chances are someone else here has already had it.

As far as I'm aware the PCME is the box that's located in the passenger kick panel, left footwell on mine (imported from Japan). I guess this is what most people refer to as the "ECU" on the forums as the wiring diagrams have the injectors, solonoids and a load of other stuff coming and going to it.
Here's the thread that I started the other day with the issues I've been having with the car. It's basically turning over but not starting.
