It has become accepted as the norm... A PC680 battery will drain if the car is to sit longer than 1 or 2 weeks without a Battery Tender.
Despite this, I find this to be an amazing little battery. Here's why.
I've disconnected my PC680 5 months ago where it sat unused and uncharged.
Today, after connecting it, the engine turned over and started within 5 seconds.

same here. i have had one in almost a year, and the car has been sitting pretty much the whole time. the only time it every died was when i did forget to disconnect it. otherwise it hold up just fine.
I had 2 over 2 years. Mine never lasted for ***** and both died a slow death as they kept going dead after days of non-use. In the cold winter weather it wouldn't last longer than 3 days. Summer would last 5-12 days.

I have a Hawker with the metal jacket and the terminals.
I used the jacket to make my own battery box. If you plan on relocating the battery, you can forego the terminals and simply screw down the cables eyering terminals right into the battery.

i agree... this is my 2nd pc680 battery, and also the second one to completely die on me over the winter. So now its time for my 3rd. Maybe this time i will remember to disconnect it. Its a great little battery, but it doesnt like to sit in the cold...

Mine dies in 2 days of storage due to the CarPC i have connected to it. So I keep it plugged in to a Battery Tender Jr all the time. It's designed for AGM type battery. When the batt does drain to below the maintenance voltage, I hookup a different charger to bring it back to life. These again are designed for AGM type batt but can bring it to 14.6v to charge. I have both an odyssey and the Gruber batteries which are the same thing except the generic non-name brand version. They are half the price, at least when I bought it, since then they have raised the price. But the Gruber battery I have, I have had no problems at all, and my car sits sometimes for a week or two.
Also when I did my swap, having to crnak the motor to check things, the odyssey would die quickly. With the gruber, it lasted a while, and when it would get weak, a couple cranks and bam, starts right up.
Here's a link to the Gruber batteries. Same dimensions and specs, I paid about 40 shipped for mine. Another friend has had his Gruber for about 3 years no problems.

I used this battery when I went to a V-Mount, got tired of the battery constantly dying and dropped an Optima Red Top into the compartment behind the passenger seat. Still have the PC680 battery in my Silvia that was put in to make room for a larger intercooler, but am doing a battery relocate on that one soon. The PC680 is a decent batteries as long as you don't forget to keep it on a battery tender but nothing sucks more than when you are ready to go for a drive a realize you forgot to hook up the charger after the last drive.
where I work we use odyssey batteries in our sand rails. I got myself a 680 the other day for my battery relocation. My cost was 80 dollars with free terminals. I'm curious on how much everyone pays for these?
I use an Odyssey PC925 (slightly larger than a 680, but still fits in the rear bins). It has sat for weeks while connected in the car and has never died. I do not use any form of external charger.
In fact, the only time it died is when I left the lights on all day once.

i have the 680....and let it sit for 4 months disconnected from the car...connected it andthe fd started right up....i've yet to have a problem with it...
i haven't had it that long either though...

It would seem to me that these cars have a significant drain somewhere. I wonder if the factory security system is to blame? Or the computers all have a considerable drain to retain their settings? Either way, the FD seems slightly inefficient when it comes to battery power while being stored or sitting for a short time.
