hmmmm, i just ran across this thread and it got the wheels turning in my head. ok, im doing a 20b FD conversion, but i live in california.... thats a BIG no no here. anyway, most of the smog techs here are absolutly brainless when it comes to rotaries, and if they pop the hood, chances are they will have no idea what they are looking at. that being said, i MAY have a chance at passing visual. BUT.... they have dyno smog testing where i am, and they closely monitor what is coming out of the tail pipe. anyway, i just got to thinking... if i can shut down one rotor, then i should have the emissions of a 13b, but with the added air of the 3rd rotor to help dilute the exhaust. i have a HF cat to put on, but i dont think i will have room for an airpump. anyway, 2 out of 3 rotors will sound less fucked up than 1 out of 2... so mayyyybe this plan would work?????? any thoughts? is there any harm to simply unplugging the injectors for a particular rotor? would i want to cut ignition as a safety precaution to that rotor as well? i guess ignition wouldnt really matter. well actually now im wondering if they would see a discrepency in the ignition pulses? hmm i think i just confused myself

its not that simple in CA.... my car has to pass the dyno emissions test, and those machines are way expensive, so if the shop gets busted, they are pretty screwed. hence its pretty hard to get "hookups" anymore. ill search for a "hookup" first of course... but the idea of cutting off one rotor would be like a last resort
