Passenger Side Water Leak (Searched)

Basically...During rain water comes in from behind the ecu and runs behind the wires in the door trim. Which completely soaks the passenger side of the car (RHD car).
I am assuming that this is not a leaking windscreen as it seems to be coming through the wing? However I am not 100% on this. The plastic bowl like thing behind the ecu gets full of water.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Leak

Best thing is to get in there on your back with a torch and get someone to tip water over the front of your car, Rix

Ok - Here is some pics of where the water is coming from during rain. The red arrows are direction of water flow.

Does anyone know whether the circled holes link to the interior or a drain clannel etc?
There are three bungs below where you can see in this pic. Two are perfectly intact and don't even get wet. However, the largest one has a cut in it & 3 wires passing through it. I don't think this gets wet enough to be my leak, but just throwing it out there just incase.

Largish 2"(?) bung at the rear of the wheel well improperly replaced, hole punched through ECU rubber boot below ABS pump to run those loose wires or an A/C issue would be the likely culprits in my view. Holes just retain the bonnet seal clips iirc.

Thanks for the reply. This is a pic of the hole in the bung. The previous owner though it was a good idea to put a 1/2" wire through it for his amp...

I just assumed that this bung did'nt see enough water to be the culprit. When it stops raining i will try to repair it .

Cheers

Nothing is coming through the hole in the bung as I've just been looking at the other side during rain. Its completely dry - cant really see anything else though (kinda cramped in there), The rubber carpet is really getting in the way too..
Looks like I will have to remove the dash to resolve this
Or can the heater unit be removed w/o removing the dash?

Cheers

Edit: If you un-seat the ecu - All the wiring behind is damp & the plastic back plate has a pool of water in it. Any ideas?

There is a drain for the Hvac ducting. It seams to get kicked by passengers on RHD cars. There was a thread about a month ago that had someone with a water intrusion problem as well on a rhd car. Maybe that thread could help

Edit: That drain could also be cloged, causing the water to overflow and leak down the side of the car. I had a cloged drain on my ford ranger and it would leak on to the carpet after it rained.

Sounds logical - Do you have a link to the thread? I've been searching for hvac ducting etc with no luck as yet.

Cheers

Ah okay. Mine is connected fine & its definitely rain water, rather than coolant I have in mine. Its further to the left of this - The padding behind the rubber carpet is soaked.

If anyone has a pic of a completely bare/stripped out interior (of this area), that would also help - As It would let me see exactly whats hidden behind the fan/heater unit.

I'm sure I cant be the first person to have this leak

Cheers

Short answer, no.

Hard to get bearings from the pic, there is another bung....used to route airbag harness in some models....situated above the ECU/sill line that if it wasn't in place and the inner guard liners were missing could presumably give grief....and virtually impossible to manipulate with guards on too I'd add. Playing a hose around the general area with the insulation removed is probably the best bet to find the prob though, otherwise just guessing.
