Can't figure out how to get pictures into post???
Anyway, the top bolt of the passenger door lever exterior won't bolt up, just gets to a point then spins. i'm thinking that it's stripped. I tried some plumbers' tape on the bolt hoping it would let it tighten up but no luck. Will I have to replace the door lock unit or can a slightly larger bolt be used to get a tight fit?
Thanks,

If I remember correctly, I believe that is actually a stud that comes loose and you need to tighten it again on the inside or something. I don't really remember exactly, but you need to remove the exterior door handle to see the problem. Once you remove it, it will become obvious. It's pretty easy to remove.

Same thing happened to me. The original stud doesnt thread deep enough and strips the 1st few threads but there's alot more threads left behind those stripped ones. It's an easy fix: just simply replace the original stud/nut on there with a longer bolt. If you really want to keep the stud/nut setup, make/buy a longer stud.
