Passed emissions in Dallas with knightsport metallic cat; comparo with stock cat

I passed easily with the knightsport cat. The set up was exactly the same as when I tested it with the stock cat. The only difference was that the stock cat had close to 100,000 miles on it. Same tune, same everything else. No additives in the fuel to try to help pass.

I DO HAVE THE AIRPUMP CONNECTED.

The final difference was he didn't test me on the dyno this time...he said my car was too low to get on it (plus I think he was high as I had to return his dime bag that fell out of his pocket into my seat )

Anyways here are the results:

*no load with dyno

results with stock cat:

There's a big difference in emissions between an engine under load and one just revving in neutral. I'm surprised he could get away with that, but I don't know how Texas is with their testing standards.

Heh, yeah, as SAiamNE said, I'm sure you could've worked something out had you not passed....

I know that! When he pulled the car into the bay, he pulled it in nose first. I came out and was about to tell him that my car wasn't a front wheel drive but he beat me to it. He must of been too tired, high, hot or whatever that he didn't want to dyno load the car. I knew the test would be better off the dyno. I wasn't about to argue. I was at least happy to see that the emission agreed with my nose test as the metallic cats seem to be pretty decent at emissions.

btw, I found the "bag" after he passed me so who knows what else I could have gotten....i just hope he is still working there when I comeback in a year for reinspection
