Parking Brake Boot Ring Question

Hey guys,

Changing out the shifter boot and parking brake boot, and was wondering if the parking brake boot ring normally is separated near the end, like in the picture. Looks to clean to be a stress break but not entirely sure. Thoughts, or should I be looking for a new ring to use with my parking brake boot?

It's not supposed to be... but they are all like that.

You might be able to plastic weld or tape or staple it back together... or all three.

I don't think you can buy the plastic part separately. I used epoxy to glue them back together. That part doesn't really serve much purpose...
