I already searched some but did not get a positve answer on what is best.
I replaced the plastic AST.
I just bought a 1995 R1 and I am having temp problems. What type of radiator flows the best?
Also what type of coolant is everyone running?
I also wanted to get new wires for it because mine are almost fried. What is a good replacement (possibly a stand alone unit or just factory wires), also what wire wrapping is best?
What oil coolers are the best on the market?
What are some other things that should be looked at to increase my reliablity (its my daily driver)
My goals right know are to keep the engine and turbos stock.
For coolant use 50/50 standard antifreeze and only "distilled" water. Lower the % antifreeze if you don't need the extra freezing temperature protection, it will improve cooling efficiency.
There are five popular cooling system mods for the 3Rd Gen:
1. Replace the plastic AST with an aluminum one, you mentioned you did this.
2. Replace the stock radiator with a larger capacity one, you're pursuing this. Fluidyne (1 1/2 inch thick) and Koyo (2 inch thick) make all aluminum aftermarket radiators for the 3RD Gen. Go to this link:

3. Modify the radiator fans with a switch that allows you to turn on the fans at any time. Go to this link:
http://rx7.voodoobox.net/howto/fanswitch/fanswitch.html
4. Change the thermoswitch that turns on the radiator fans to a Miata thermoswitch that will turn on the fans at a lower temperature. The Miata thermoswitch is available from aftermarket parts places. You also have to change the existing connector. Get the connector from a 90's something Ford Probe (Mazda engine) at your Pull-It-Yourself wrecking yard.
5. Recognize that the stock temperature gauge is actually an idiot light and either "linearize" the stock gauge or install an aftermarket temp gauge in order to get accurate temperature readings. Go to these links:

Before you go headfirst into these mods, spend a little more time trying to figure out why you are overheating. After all, this is winter and we sure aren't experiencing overheating weather.

JMoney,
What do you mean by "overheating"?
Take a look at this thread and see if this is similar to your problem or if you have something different going on:

I want to replace my two oil coolers on my R2 (SanJoRX7
). I wanted to know what brands are good. I found a place called crooked racing that sells them(yes/no).
As for the overheating I went with Jonesboro and legendr35 advice and the fan mod works GREAT!! Thanks guys!!
Mahjik the site was informative also. Thanks

If you live in Dallas...
There's no need for you to run 50/50 mix living in a warm weather cliimate. You can bump the water content up to 75% distilled water and 25% antifreeze. In your case the antifreeze is merely serving as a lubricant for the water pump seals. You could probably run 80% water and 20% antifreeze with great results (this is what I run for long endurance lapping sessions in the summer). Your motor will run much cooler because the higher water content will keep the operating temps DOWN.
Don't forget to add Redline water wetter. The higher the water content you use in your coolant, the better the water wetter works; it's a water wetting agent that decreases the surface tension of water, helping water cover metals parts more thoroughly...water surface tension is the tendency for water to "cling" to itself, and thus not cover metal parts as well...
FWIW, I run 70% water 30% antifreeze year round here in Indy with no coolant freezing problems during the winter...note that my car is always garaged, whether at work, or at home...so this helps in preventing coolant freeze up
My '93 R1 currently has 92,000 miles; it will be 10 years old in April. It has overheated once on track at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, when I blew a radiator hose coming out of the "Key Hole" turn. That was 45,000 miles and 3 years ago. The motor still runs well, and pulls ferociously...count me as one of the LUCKY ONES!
