overheating

Have just purchased 93 RX7 . Its overheating and pushing water out of bottle, exhaust gases detected at rad cap . is it terminal. On conventional engine would suspect head gasket any ideas please.

Those symptoms would certainly seem to suggest O-ring failure. Some people have experimented with block weld with a degree of success but unfortunately the only permanent solution is a re-build.
