Well in MY opinion, there are several cars on the market that can equally perform the "almighty FD" on a road course.. And in stock form they get ***-raped by todays cars. Sure, it's a great design - one of MANY. To take a 12 year old car that otherwise would be getting abused by the nations "racer boy" fad, or sitting in a garage waiting another rebuild and actually competing with it (rotary powered) is honorable. You guys and your "Oh my god! Straight Line? YOU RUINED IT!!" **** crack me up.. At least his car see's the ******* pavement and gets miles put on it.. unlike half the owners here.

this is starting to go way off subject as many threads tend to, but MY opinion is that any car that is strictly built for one purpose is just lame; regardless of whether or not it is an FD. The FD in stock form is only a good starting platform, not the end all of cars.

as a side note, just because it is running today doesnt mean it will be running tomorrow. he doesn't have some secret power that keeps his rotors turning; he just happens to have an engine that is running...for now.

You mock the stock FD for not having the straightline power of todays cars and that it gets ***-raped. His car will have the completely opposite problem. What good is it to be able to ***-rape a car in a straight line, just to be passed by a stock 240 on the corners?

I haven't tuned/dynoed my car yet, but hope to be putting down upwards of 425RWHP to the ground, which should give it formidable straightline performance. However, I did not forget to build my suspension to match. I know everyone is going to jump on me because I don't have the dyno slip to backup my #'s, but I would assume that if you read my sig that you will know that my #'s shouldn't be too far off.

The point is why limit a well rounded car? Build it equally.

Whether it is on the street or track this setup is only good for straight lines. The point I was trying to make is; if straightline is your thing...those are the wheels for it, but not for much else.

anyhow...there is no point in arguing since obviously you have commited to it already.
If you ask anyone local, they'll tell you that mentioning my name and the word cornering is down right preposterous.

Front wheels are 3.5 inches wide. How wide of a tire is going on them? Skinny, bro. They don't call them skinnies for nothing.

sorry, bro, i didn't mean to jack your thread. it's like they say; "opinions are like ********, everone has one"

it is your car and i don't pay your bills, build it for what you like. it looks like you are putting a lot of time and $$$ into it. which like JDHuegel said that is more than what most are doing with their cars.

i like the wheels, that wasn't what i was arguing. i am sure anyone that sees them will know you mean business.

regards,
josh

And that's your whiney assed opinion.

Again, if you've been around for any decent amount of time or personally knew me then you'd know that my RX7 is always running. If my motor breaks then I'll literally rebuild the engine and have it running/racing the next day.

Moronic moron, not everyone blasts the corners at 4,000 mph.

If you think by just bolting on these parts you'll automatically make these internet HP numbers then you've got alot to learn.

It's built equally, to get to the 1320 as fast as possible.

i figured that this is where the thread would end up. With you attacking me personally ,and demonstrating your immaturity and inability to express yourself without attacking people. that is why i tried to apologize before it got out of hand, but I see you went ahead and let it escalate.

my engine / turbo combo was selected because it works. If you want I will email/PM/post the the dyno slip when i go in early march, I will

If you can R&R & Rebuild an engine in 24hours you have way too much time on your hands and a whole lotta money in parts sitting on a shelf. So, I would think this is somewhat of an exaggeration. Then again I don't know you; you may not have anything else to do with life other than work on your RX7.

Anyhow, good luck with your car.

Don't bother. There is plenty of that info in the timeslip forums.

Not to seem rude.. But why did you chose the FD as your platform? It seems as if there are many other cars out there that would be better suited to drag racing.

I could give a **** less about what other people think. You are building the car for you and no one else. What gear ratio are you going run in the 8.8?

I'm not trying to judge him.. just wanted to get an idea of why he decided to use the FD as a drag car, when it lends itself better for circuit racing.

I enjoy judging Eric.

Even with his "pee-pee" wheels, he is still slow. :P

I don't need to go to the track to know I am fast, yo.
