If you are looking to put the Rx8 seats in your Rx7 you and I are on the same page. I have been in contact with the Mazda dealer about the seats but they told me I would have to buy them in peaces and put them together. Why doesn't Mazda school these dumb asses. I know damb well I can purchase a whole seat. Maybe they aren't as stupid as we all lead them to be and they think we're all idiots.

I think you guys should stick with the seats you have. I don't see how the the RX-8 seats will fit, they're deeper and likely wider. The also means you'll have to figure out a way to mount them because I doubt the mount holes will line up. And the mounts for the seats in your car are bolted into nuts that are welded to the floor of the car. So if you can't use those you'll have to raise the seat up on a custom sub frame or weld new mount nuts into the floor. On the other hand, they may line up perfectly.

Also, if your seats aren't in the best shape it would be a lot cheaper to refinish the leather or have them recovered, as opposed to buying new seats. And you'll never be able to buy any interior part for an RX-7 or RX-8 that's not exorbitantly expensive from a dealership.

I have rear seats from Japan in the back of my FD. I would have spent my money on those before I ever considered RX-8 front seats. They're pretty but they're not FD seats. I'd even rather have a set of light weight racing seats if I were going to get something different than stock. However, to each his own.
