Opinion on Mix n Matching Bodykits..

What do you guys think/opinions on mix and matching
different body kit components for a FD3S??

I am considering gathering pieces for my eventual
repaint next spring..

Feed type 1 or GTC front bumper
Racing beat or Veilside skirts
Cwest rear apron
with a Racingbeat TypeII wing..

BTW. all piece will probably will be replicas..
From MBautosport and this forum..

Would it look to frankensteinish??
Or should I just pick out ONE kit or another??

thanks

You can make it look good, but its YOUR car, YOUR opinion.
In my opinion, there isnt any 1 kit that looks good all the way around, so mix and match is the way to go.
i dont know about combos... havent put that much thought into it

[There's some threads on this so try SEARCH.]

I don't think its necessary to go with one kit in general, I'm not but mines not all installed so it remains open.

I would guess that you don't want to mix side skirts and other side trim like rear fenders. Look at some pics.

I'm going for a Feed Type 1 from MB too because it seems to look the best for the Scoot hood I got and its so cheap I can dispose of it if I'm wrong without too much pain

Then Feed Wing, and RE Amemiya sides and rear fenders. The Feed is a sweet wing but I'm having 2nd thoughts about having a wing period...

Time will tell on all of this ....

I think more people mix and match than those who don't. It can turn out crappy or it can turn out great but in general I'm all for it. My point is, when its done, post pics .

Just dont over do it, imo bodykits are for inferior cars .....the FD was so good stock its reeeaally easy to look like your trying too hard .

Then we will have to send you in for therapy.

My friend just totalled his RX7. He has a Civic Hybrid now. This is what his RX7 used to look like: GTC front bumper, Veilside rear, skirts and spoiler, carbon fiber hood, and painted Vapor. The cleanest looking car, everything just matched up perfect.

Here's a link:

Is that the VW vapor? Looks great, not a fan of some of the things but the paint is great. Where is TpCpLaYa when you need him, I bet he has a pic or two of a simlar setup.

But the real question is...why even put a body kit on it? They are OK when done tastefully, but more often then not it looks like the owner is trying too hard.
